Food Project

A healthy child who has all his/her nutritional needs met is a happy child.
It is our firm belief that investing in child nutrition and education is one of the most effective entry points for human development. Driven by this belief, we strive to provide children with a hot, nutritious and tasty meal every day as an incentive to come to school. Thus – ‘No slum child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger.’
Currently, we serve 150 children studying in Children of hope School, Jaipur, Rajasthan state of India.
Our food project caters to the educational and nutritional needs of children who are neglected and are living in slums. Hailing from poor, migrant families, their hygiene, diet, nutrition and health care needs are not a priority with parents, who are themselves struggling to make ends meet. The intervention helps prevent and control anemia and has shown remarkable results in overall development of children with respect to their physical, emotional and intellectual growth. Other positive changes include increase in daily attendance of classes, higher levels of motivation and improved energy and enthusiasm.
